On August 8, 2024, the 2024 International Corrugated Industry Seminar & HKCPMA's 59th Anniversary Celebration was successfully held at Rosewood Guangzhou. It pooled together members of HKCPMA (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area), corrugated industry representatives, business associates, and upstream and downstream suppliers, with guests including nearly 300 friends and enterprise representatives from various regions such as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Taipei, India, as well as the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The event theme was "Connecting the World's Corrugated Industry".

2024 International Corrugated Industry Seminar

The 2024 International Corrugated Industry Seminar was hosted in both Chinese and English by Mr. Director Zhuang Jianian of Hang Yick Paper Products Company Ltd. It kicked off with the opening session of "Panel Discussion: Thoughts and Views DRUPA Germany Exhibition". Chairman Larry Szeto led the panel of guests, including Mr. Hogan Ho from KL Group, Ms. Tuti Buntaran, WPO Ambassador from Indonesia, Mr. Calvin Chung from Graphic Arts Association of Hong Kong, and Mr. Edward Ju from Overseas Business Department of China Packaging Federation, to sharing and discussion on learning experiences from exhibitions in Germany, Turkey, and Russia, as well as exchanges on industry market development trends and opportunities across various countries.

Following the "Panel Discussion" were engaging speeches on industry topics by Mrs. Varna Sudasna (Thailand), Director of ACCA, Mr. Makoto Takaura from Japan's Daio Paper Corporation, Mr. Wu Yunbo, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of China Packaging Federation, as well as HKCPMA's major sponsors: KL Group, Yingke Printing Tech, Kenhua Baler Machinery, and RX, all of who covered a wide range of topics such as the updates on Asian corrugated packaging in 2024, the carton market in Japan, the current development status of China's and global corrugated paper packaging industry, innovative corrugated technology, the development in water-based inks for corrugated paper, and new environment-friendly waste removal products for plants.

Mr. Adward Lu, Senior Project Manager of RX, presented the key plans for WEPACK 2025 and an analysis of international packaging trends, which drew wide attention among the participants.

Packed with valuable contents and insights, the Seminar earned applause from the entire audience. Participants collectively explored the development opportunities for the corrugated paper industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and HKCPMA also fully played the role of a bridge between China and the world, sharing advanced technology information at home and abroad while promoting high-quality development among its member enterprises.

In the evening, HKCPMA arranged a visual celebration feast of traditional Chinese culture - lion dance performance, carrying forward a new vibe amid a lively and joyous scene! Chairman Szeto struck the symbolic bell in person, marking the official commencement of HKCPMA's 59th Anniversary Celebration.

Following the toast, Ms. Josephine Lee, COO of RX, presented a customized gift to HKCPMA along with her wishes for the promising future and sustained success of HKCPMA in scaling new heights.

Chairman Larry Szeto delivered an impassioned speech to express his gratitude to the guests and member enterprises from home and abroad for their support and cooperation, and also outlined the development blueprint for the coming year. He emphasized that in the face of the ever-changing global market, only by uniting the industry and joining forces could we meet challenges together and achieve sustainable development in the industry. Then, Mr. Henry Low, Chairman of ACCA, and Mr. Zhang Yaoquan, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of China Packaging Federation Paper Products Committee, delivered their congratulations and speeches respectively. A gathering for members and industry elites, the Celebration offered opportunities of closer exchanges and collaborations among industry peers.

As the host's announced once again, an important ceremony gradually unfolded - presentation of appreciation gifts to sponsors. These gifts were not only a cordial response to the sponsors' generous all-out support but also a high recognition and commendation for their long-term significant contributions to HKCPMA (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area) and the successful convening of the International Corrugated Industry Seminar.

The Celebration was not only a grand event for industry exchanges but also a new starting point for peers in the corrugated paper industry to join hands and co-create a brilliant future.
